All players will be evaluated and assigned to an SMS team that participates in the Valley Hockey League (VHL). Team rosters are selected based on overall skill level to ensure competitive play at the appropriate level of USA Hockey - Tier A, AA, or AAA.

Team Placement
Player evaluations are held in early April, initial team assignments will be completed shortly thereafter.
When
The season begins in late August and runs until playoffs in March.
WHERE
Practices are held at Navin Arena in Marlborough.
Games are played across the metro Boston region.
Practices
- Teams practice 2 times per week
- Age level skills occur 4-8 per season with Solid State Hockey
Games
Each team will participate in the Valley Hockey league playing 35 games in the regular season. Valley League teams are also eligible to advance to the Valley League playoffs at the end of the season.
Uniforms
Home and away SMS jerseys and socks are required and can be purchased at our uniform provider Hit the Net Sports.
2025-26
Our 14U VHL Hockey programs are for players born in 2011-2012. The program consists of players from Sudbury, Maynard, and Stow. Players from surrounding communities are welcome.
The core mission of the SMS program is player development. The season begins in late August and will run through March.
All players must have a current USA Hockey number at registration.

Program Cost:
Full Time Player Tuition is $2100
A non-refundable deposit of $450 is due at the time of registration. If you register after March 15th you will be charged a late fee of $100.
